It ends well!! Chevron prepares to hand over the Erawan platform to PTTEP
Erawan platform prepared to be delivered this March. Chevron provides cooperation to them by allowing PTTEP to survey before the expiration of the concession in April 2022.
Chevron has banned PTTEP Enter the Erawan podium. Latest on March 18, 2021, Chevron Thailand survey and production Co., Ltd. recently informed that the company has reached an IT Transition Support Agreement with PTTEP ED to support PTTEP ED’s operations in entering the Erawan field area and prepare the infrastructure and offshore information technology networks for being an Erawan field operator in April 2022.

The IT Transition Support Agreement states that Chevron Thailand will support PTTEP ED’s operations in preparing offshore information technology systems including the design and installation of infrastructure as well as information technology networks in order to effectively communicate and manage information. This is one of the cornerstones of ongoing offshore operations. PTTEP ED entered the Erawan field area to begin exploration and planning for information technology in mid-March.
In this regard, Chevron has coordinated human resource arrangements for PTTEP, where the two companies have collaborated together in the recruitment and selection process to support the operations of the Erawan field further. The onshore staff has been recruited. As for the offshore workers and contractors, the processes are expected to be completed by the middle of this year and will allow some employees to work with PTTEP from the middle of this year to support operations during the preparation period.
However, Chevron will probably work with PTT. ONEP and the Department of Mineral Fuels continue to cooperate in delivering the Erawan field to be completed safely during the transition period before the end of the Erawan field concession in April 2022.
