อThe Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) received the appeal by the Thai Amateur Weightlifting Association (TAWA) against the decision of case CAS 2020/A/6981. After the independent committee of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) issued penalties for both Thai personnel and athletes, Mr Prajya Keeratinan, president of the association is ready to fight to bring justice back. CAS accepted the appeal of the Amateur Weightlifting Association of Thailand per CAS 2020/A/6981 on 22 April 2020. On 24th April 2020, Mr Prajya Keeratinan, President of TAWA, revealed good news: the CAS received the appeal by the TAWA against the penalties for members of TAWA issued by the Independent Member Federation Sanctions Panel (IMFSP). In particulars, personnel were banned from IWF for 3 years, athletes were prohibited to participate in any international competition for 11 months while athletes under the age of 18 for 5 months. While waiting for the start of the next competition, the Thai Amateur Weightlifting Association always works hard despite how difficult it is and fights to bring back the justice. The President of Thai Amateur Weightlifting Association says that the Executive Committee of the International Weightlifting Federation removed Tamas Arjan from the position of President of the IWF. This is proof that we will receive fair justice from the Court CAS. “Thai Amateur Weightlifting Association (TAWA) appointed as president of the committee Mr Niphon Limbunsueb, who has more than 10 years’ experience in world-class weightlifting and Dr Sirilak Thadman as a member of the TAWA committee of trainers and researcher for the third time. This time, all the committee members have excellent morale and unity work for this fight. Therefore, we can be confident that we will receive the fair justice back.” said Mr Prajya.
