Alternative Dispute Resolution Game Contest Project
1. Principle and reason for the Alternative Dispute Resolution Game Contest Project
THAC Thailand Arbitration Center (“the Center”) was established under the Arbitration Center Act B.E.2550 with a mission to publicize knowledge on Alternative Dispute Resolution, whether mediation or arbitration. Previously, the Center made an effort to research, study, and develop learning instruments and publicize knowledge on Alternative Dispute Resolution in a creative and appropriate method that has a wide reach to the target audience.
For the annual expenditure budget of 2021, the Center has included a project for a game about Alternative Dispute Resolution. This is a great opportunity for students at the university or equivalent to participate and win prizes from the Center.
2. Objectives of the project
2.1 To promote knowledge and understanding of Alternative Dispute Resolution in negotiation, mediation, and arbitration to students and the general public.
2.2 To serve as an academic platform for the general public. Both individual and legal entities who interest in Alternative Dispute Resolution can demonstrate their potential and ability to create teaching materials
2.3 To develop a media for publicizing knowledge on Alternative Dispute Resolution in a diverse, modern, and easily accessible format for the target audience.
3. Target group
The general public, including individual and legal entities who are interested in Alternative Dispute Resolution.
4. Submission criteria
4.1 The game content must be related to Alternative Dispute Resolution, whether negotiation, mediation, or arbitration.
4.2 The game must have creative mechanics with a format appropriate to the alternative dispute resolution content.
4.3 The game is appropriate for players aged 14 and over [LG1].
4.4 The gameplay duration must not exceed 45 minutes [LG2].
4.5 This contest is no restriction on the format or game genre.
5. Application to participate
5.1 The participant must submit a presentation as a Powerpoint file with up to 7 pages. The presentation must include the game title, game content, gameplay instructions, game mechanics, and the game artwork in summary. The game content must be centered on Alternative Dispute Resolution.
5.2 The participants must complete the application form by specifying the team member’s name-surname. Attaching any relevant documents such as a copy of an ID card or passport, etc., to the Center.
5.3 The participants are required to submit presentation documents in item 4.1 to the Center through the following channels;
– Delivery in person at the office of the Center, located on the 26th Floor, Bhiraj Tower, Sukhumvit Road, Khlong Tan Nuea, Watthana, Bangkok
– Delivery by post. The mail should be specified with the following message “Application for an Alternative Dispute Resolution Game Contest Project” No. 689, Bhiraj Tower, 26th Floor, Sukhumvit Road, Khlong Tan Nuea, Wattana, Bangkok 10110

5.4 The participant can register in only one team, and each team can submit only one game.
5.5 The participant can apply for the contest until 31st March 2021.
6. Original Game Submission
Five selected teams of participants must submit one original game and one of its digital format for download.
7.Propriety rights in the game.
Copyright in the selected last 5 teams’ game works will belong to THAC Thailand Arbitration Center.
Additionally, if the game creator wishes to produce, distribute, modify or reproduce the said work must obtain prior written consent from THAC each time.
8. Duration of the contest
8.1 Open for submission from 1st February – 31st March 2021
8.2 Announcement of the 5 selected teams by 30th April 2021.
8.3 The deadline for submitting the original work and its digital format by 31st May 2021
8.4 Announcement of contest results by 30th June 2021
9. Judgement Criteria
9.1 Game content is appropriate and helps promote understanding in Alternative Dispute Resolution and impart such understanding in a creative and interesting method.
9.2 Creativity of the Game mechanics.
9.3 Consistency of the game mechanics and elements are in the same direction.
9.4 Content and game mechanics are appropriate for the target audience; those aged 14 years and over
9.5 Presentation of the participant’s works is complete, clear, and interesting.
9.6 Types of the game is suitable for adaptation
10. Prize money for selected winners.
10.1 The first place winner will be awarded a certificate and 25,000 baht (twenty-five thousand baht only)
10.2 The first runner-up will be awarded a certificate and 10,000 baht (ten thousand baht only)
10.3 The three 2nd runners up will be awarded a certificate and 5,000 baht per prize (five thousand baht only)
