Announcement on the postponement of the 3rd National Mediation Competition
Regarding the Thailand Arbitration Center’s organizing of the “National Mediation Competition 2021”, which will be held at the Thailand Arbitration Center facility between 17 – 19 February 2021.
However, due to the new wave of the spreading of the COVID-19 pandemic situation, to prevent the spread of the disease, as stipulated by the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) measures, and health consideration safety of the contestants and those involved.
Therefore, THAC is announcing the postponement of the 3rd National Mediation Competition on 17 – 19 February 2021. The new schedule of the event will be held on 21 – 23 April 2021. The details are as stated in the application rules of the 3rd National Mediation Competition (1st Revised edition).

The Thailand Arbitration Center (“THAC”) aims to promote, develop, and construct knowledge on every type of Alternative Dispute Resolution, including mediation. Accordingly, to raise more awareness of THAC’s dispute resolution services, THAC has decided to host commercial dispute mediation activity to create a better understanding of dispute mediation processes according to the Thailand Arbitration Center Rules on Mediation under THAC’s case management. The activities are the 3rd mediation competition and negotiation competition for the undergraduate students, which will occur in the fiscal year of 2021 between 21 – 23 April 2021 at the Thailand Arbitration Center on the 26th floor of the Bhiraj Tower.

Applicant qualification
Mediator Team
The applicants must apply as a team. 2 persons for each team with 1-2 coach(es) (if any).
The applicants shall be undergraduate university students, second-year and over. No faculty/department restrictions, and it is not required to be from the same institute.
The applicants must not be over 25 years old (from the submit date).
Negotiator Team
The applicants must apply as a team. 2-4 persons for each team with 1-2 coach(es) (if any). There must be at least 1 undergraduate university student from the faculty/department of Law on the Negotiator Team to act as the Lawyer in this competition.
The applicants shall be undergraduate university students, second-year and over. No faculty/department restrictions, and it is not required to be from the same institute.
The applicants must not be over 25 years old (from the submit date).
The applicants for coaching must be at least 26 years and over (from the submit date). If the applicants for coaching are university instructors, they can coach on several teams; however, it must be the teams from the university where the applicants are affiliated.
The competitor who was the mediator in the year 2018-2019 is not eligible to participate.
The applicants must only apply for either as Mediator Team or Negotiator Team.

Copies of ID cards (everyone on the team) 1 set
Copies of student ID cards (everyone on the team except the coaches) 1 set
Copies of instructor ID cards (if coaching on several teams) 1 set

Application fee
Free to apply. There is no application cost.
If there is more than 1 coach in the team, they must pay the 2,000 baht application fee per team prior to the orientation day.
Application period
Accepting the application from 18 November 2020 – 23 March 2021 at 5.00 PM (counting from the time the applications were already submitted into THAC’s system).
