On February 20th, 2023, the Pharmaceutical Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage and Thailand Arbitration Center (THAC) held a panel discussion titled “Pharmacists Move Forward, Discussing A Way Out of Disputes” at the Pharmaceutical Association of Thailand under Royal building. The panel focused on resolving disputes in the pharmaceutical industry via faster, more convenient, and cost-saving dispute resolution methods that benefit all parties involved. Furthermore, the panel was honored by the attendance of Mr. Thaevan Uthaivath (Professional Director and Independent Legal Consultant of THAI LEGAL LAW), Mr. Pichayaphon Nunphakdee (Pharmacist), and Mr. Ittirote Klinboon(Legal Consultant at Chandler MHM Co., Ltd.).
The panel discussion was conducted in an atmosphere of active discussion and inquiry concerning the contentious issue of disputes in the pharmaceutical industry, encompassing both the legal aspect and practical implementation. For instance, a question was raised during the session as to whether it would be illegal to write a list of medicines needed on paper and ask someone else to purchase them on one’s behalf. The objective of the panel is to enhance knowledge and understanding of how to resolve disputes using alternative dispute resolution methods in the pharmaceutical and pharmacy industries.
