Simulated Arbitration Proceedings
Thailand Arbitration Center (THAC) held a seminar on Simulated Arbitration Proceedings on 9 July 2020, at Thailand Arbitration Center (THAC), 26th Floor, Bhiraj Tower. This seminar involved the construction and infrastructure focusing on small claim arbitration process in order to demonstrate the speed of arbitration in a case with the funds not exceeding 35 million Baht. The situation of the simulated arbitration proceedings was the construction contract of an office building with a parking lot, where the construction was delayed and the employer had to find another company to take over in the operation, causing damages to the employer in terms of time and expenses. The dispute was therefore resolved by the arbitration process.
In this seminar, Thailand Arbitration Center (THAC) was honored by the arbitrators together with Mr. Phisuth Atthakamon, Partner of Baker & McKenzie Company Limited; Ms. Noppamas Thamatheeradej, Legal Consultant of Tilleke & Gibbins International Company Limited; Dr. Amnat Tangkhiripiman, the Vice Dean of International Programs, Faculty of Law, Thammasat University; Ms. Warathorn Wongsawangsiri, Partner of Herbert Smith Freehills; Ms. Tossaporn Samphiphatthanadecha, Partner of Watson Farley & Williams; and Mr. Chakrit Imchareonkun, Legal Consultant of Thailand Arbitration Center participated in this simulated arbitration proceedings. Models and procedures of the small claim arbitration process were explained in order to present the overview of the arbitration proceedings and to create understanding of situations and operations of Thailand Arbitration Center among the participants of this seminar.
