THAC cooperate with China to establish TCIAC for Thai- Chinese dispute resolution.
On 14th October 2020, Mr. Pasit Asawawattanaporn, Managing Director of THAC, gave the opening speech for the opening of TCIAC (Thai-Chinese International Arbitration and Mediation Center) teleconference via Zoom Meeting. This aims to reduce the number of disputes related to businesses and international trade, especially between Thailand and China. THAC was honored by Mr.Shi Datou, TCIAC Secretary-General; Dr.Thanet Sujareekul, Director of LL.M., Rangsit University and also an arbitrator of THAC; Mr.Kasin Chamnanchanun, a mediator of Thailand Arbitration Center; and all attendee from the Chinese Embassy, to jointly discuss through a video call with respect to the establishment of TCIAC.

TCIAC is the Alternative Dispute Resolution Center established to support Alternative Dispute Resolution in commerce and investment between Thailand and China. Currently, China is the high ranking partner of Thailand, whether export or import. Mr.Pasit Asawawattanaporn, Managing Director of THAC, hopes that the cooperation for TCIAC Alternative Dispute Resolution center establishment shall reinforce and support Alternative Dispute Resolution in commerce and investment between the parties, both Thailand and China, and expected that this cooperation would lead to an increased use Thailand Arbitration Service Center (THAC)’s service from Chinese investors.
However, TCIAC’s establishment is just the beginning of a good relationship between Thailand and China. THAC thereafter will push for increasing the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution, including publicizing to Chinese investors the knowledge of Alternative Dispute Resolution and setting up the activities to push for an increased use Alternative Dispute Resolution such as arbitration and mediation. This cooperation of the two countries will lead to a smoother investment between Thailand and China.
