THAC discussed with THAI-CC, suggesting TCIAC to resolve conflicts between Thais and Chinese.
On 2 March 2021, THAC Managing Director, Mr. Pasit Asawawattanaporn, along with TCIAC Secretary-General, Mr. Datuo Shi, had a discussion with Mr. Narongsak Putthapornmongkol, President of the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, and his team. The discussion was on introducing THAC and TCIAC (Thai-Chinese International Arbitration and Mediation Center) to establish a good relationship and seek for possibility between TCIAC and THAI-CC in businesses and investment dispute resolution between disputing parties from Thailand and China in the course of time.
Thailand Arbitration Center or THAC is the Center that providing services in arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution. The Center cooperates with China in establishing TCIAC (Thai-Chinese International Arbitration and Mediation Center) as the center for international dispute resolution, particularly between Thailand and China. The center is located in Thailand with the purpose of decreasing conflicts in businesses, investment, and international trading, specifically those conflicts between Thailand and China. Since China is considered one of Thailand’s major trading partners in both importation and exportation.

The Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (THAI-CC) plays a significant role in supporting and promoting international trading in Thailand together as well as helping to assist Chinese businessmen in various aspects (especially for Chinese SME entrepreneurs) including investing in Thailand. The Chamber also carries out the mission of promoting relations between Thailand and China in many industries, such as industrial companies, SMEs, e-commerce, and modern technologies, as well as driving forward cooperation in two-way trading and investment between Thailand and China.
Nonetheless, this meeting between THAC and the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (THAI-CC) is a good opening in driving to increase the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution services. Besides, it will assist Thai and Chinese businessmen to resolve their disputes in Thailand instead of going to other foreign countries. Moreover, it will also help to ease out the trading and investment between Thailand and China and reduce the capital outflow from both Thais and foreigners who invested in Thailand -China cooperation.
