THAC in the South! To Promote the Knowledge of Alternative Dispute Resolution
The Thailand Arbitration Center (THAC) continues to provide information on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), organizes a knowledge enhancement program “Alternative Dispute Resolution Process” to raise awareness and understanding to become more widespread. It is also a guideline that leads to the development, promotion and increase in the use of alternative dispute resolution processes in Thailand. This time, THAC traveled to Nakhon Si Thammarat to provide knowledge at the Twin Lotus Hotel on July 29, 2020, from 9:30 – 18:00.
As THAC foresees that Nakhon Si Thammarat is the most populous province and the second biggest province of the southern region with trade and agriculture that are among the country’s top exported products as well, it is a potential place to educate about ADR to help entrepreneurs, individuals, public and private organizations to be adapted to operate or reduce conflicts, whether it is a contract issue or a violation of intellectual property.
At the seminar in Nakhon Si Thammarat, THAC received a great honor from Mr. Siriphat Phatthanakun, the governor of Nakhon Si Thammarat to preside over the ceremony and also Mr. Kasin Chamnanchanan, a mediator of the THAC to provide knowledge about the basics of mediation, which is a popular process as it is flexible and fast and also maintains a good relationship between parties, especially for regional or national operators. It was also honored by Mr. Pratchaya Uytrakul and Mr. Chaiwat Muangkeaw, a government attorney at the Attorney General Office, to participate in lectures on arbitration. From the response of this activity and according to the vision of THAC, THAC expects to help people of Nakhon Si Thammarat and the southern region to gain knowledge about ARD and be able to reduce disputes that arise. It is also expected to further enhance the ADR, and the opinions of participants will be used to develop THAC’s alternative dispute resolution service.
