THAC joint hand with the Office of the Attorney General to promote the Knowledge in ADR in seminar RE: “Dispute Management in contract with a government organization.”
Ms.Matchimtorn Kampiranon, on behalf of the Managing Director of THAC, opened the training on “ Management Alternative Dispute Resolution in contract with government organization” at 120-year meeting room, the Office of the Attorney General, Building A, Government Complex, on 21st August 2020. This training aimed for prosecutors and government officials to understand Alternative Dispute Resolutions and the procedure of both arbitration and mediation

This training aimed to educate in contracts related with government organization whether the agreement is made among government organizations or between government organization and private section. The contracts usually contain clauses related to Alternative Dispute Resolution such as mediation or arbitration. However, government organizations, private sectors, or the general public are not familiar with Alternative Dispute Resolution, which resulted in pragmatical issues. These issues include the unfamiliarity and confusion when the dispute arises where there is a dispute clause selecting Alternative Dispute Resolution.
During the training at the Office of the Attorney General, there are opportunities to exchange knowledge and experiences between the speakers and attendees. The training was honored by the speakers, Mr. Pawarot Panichpatom, Expert Public Prosecutor 1, Department of Civil Dispute Settlement and Arbitration and Mr. Kritsada Disbanjong, Senior Expert Public Prosecutor 1, Department of Civil Dispute Settlement and Arbitration, to answers questions such as contract amendment, lease contract, the return of penalty when delivery prior to the time extension, or termination by Force Majeure. Questions from today attendees will be used for further development and future usage.

THAC perceives that Alternative Dispute Resolution will be beneficial for both the government section and the private section in the event of disputes. This is also a preparation to manage, handle or process with the most efficient manner when proceeding in mediation or arbitration.
