THAC organized the “THAC x APRAG Symposium,” an academic seminar in collaboration with the Asia Pacific Regional Arbitration Group (APRAG).
The event aimed to enhance Thailand’s image as a recognized center for alternative dispute resolution in the ASEAN region. Ms. Nantarat Thepdomchai, Inspector General of the Ministry of Justice, served as the chairperson for the opening ceremony of the “THAC x APRAG Symposium.”
The objective of this THAC event was to promote knowledge and understanding of alternative dispute resolution through arbitration. It surveyed the business sector’s opinions on the acceptance of arbitration as a globally recognized method of resolving disputes, while further enhancing Thailand’s image as a center for alternative dispute resolution in ASEAN. The event served as a platform for over 60 member countries, including business professionals, lawyers, policy-makers, academics, and qualified experts from both public and private sectors, to exchange views on innovative approaches to alternative dispute resolution. The symposium took place at Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok on Friday, May 19, 2566 (2023), from 9.00AM to 6.00PM. [GMT+7]
The symposium highlighted the momentum driving the development of alternative dispute resolution in Thailand towards international standards. Collaboration between international organizations and arbitration centers, including the Asia Pacific Regional Arbitration Group (APRAG), demonstrated mutual confidence in Thailand’s arbitration processes. The event aimed to foster the development and promotion of access to arbitration in Thailand and abroad, while enhancing the country’s image in the international arena of alternative dispute resolution.
