THAC together with SAT opened Thailand Center of ADR for Sport aiming to raise the sport industry to international standards
Thailand Arbitration Center (THAC) together with Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) launched Thailand’s first Center of Alternative Disputes Resolution for Sport (TCAS) to support alternative disputes resolution process by mediation and arbitration, aims to develop efficiently and equality of Thai sport industry into the international level.
Assistant Minister of Justice Mr. Thanawat Nitikarnjana along with Mr. Khamphon Ouitayakul, Secretary to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports presided over the press conference and grand opening of “TCAS” wherewith Mr. Pasit Asawawattanaporn, Managing Director of THAC and Mr. Wissanu Laichaphit, Deputy Governor of SAT at of the building in honor of the 7th Cycle Birthday Anniversary of SAT Huamark, on March 2, 2022
Mr. Thanawat Nitikarnjana, said that the Ministry of Justice have a strong belief that the cooperation of the bipartite will leads to the important in developing of effective alternative disputes resolution in Thailand comply with international standards as well as attracted to sport personnel (athletes, coach, trainer, selector, team official, agent etc.) recognize the importance and choose alternative dispute resolution process when sports disputes arise in the future.
Furthermore, Mr. Khamphon Ouitayakul, revealed that the establishment of this center It will be useful in the development of sports in Thailand. Both fairness athlete equality or those who are involved in all parties with a purpose to establish sports standards with transparency which will have an overall effect on the country including national competitions.
Simultaneously, Mr. Pasit Asawawattanaporn said that in the meantime the Thai sports industry has progressed and growing steadily as we all can see from the success of the Thai national team athletes and professional sports. These may lead to disputes on various issues of sports for example professional contracts or even prohibited substances control rules, etc.) These are the sources of the establishment of the center to raise the level of Thai sports industry to international standards.
Mr. Wissanu Laichaphit, added that the collaboration between THAC and SAT will combine as a center for coordinating sports. This includes the sporting associations it is affiliated with; this includes the sporting associations under which it jointly promotes the use of THAC’s alternative dispute resolution mechanism to resolve disputes that arise and can promote effective dispute resolution in sports. as well as to reduce conflicts which are sent to the Sports Authority of Thailand.
