THAC’s Managing Director presided over the opening ceremony. “TCIAC arbitrators training”
On December 17, 2021, Thailand Arbitration Center (THAC) leading by Mr. Pasit Asawawattanaporn, Managing Director of Thailand Arbitration Center presided over the opening ceremony “TCIAC Arbitration Training 2021” which THAC and TCIAC plans to hold a special training on TCIAC Arbitration Proceedings and practice guideline.
The purpose of this training course is to equip all participants with the necessary knowledge to conduct arbitral proceedings under the TCIAC Arbitration Rules and expect to minimize the impact of legal and procedural difference in cross-border arbitration and maximize the tribunal’s role on handling arbitration cases.
Mr, Pasit Asawawattanaporn revealed that during the last decade, the exponential economic growth in China and Thailand led to the intensification of commercial relationships between these two countries. These relationships cover a wide range of fields, goods, services, finance and investments. According to this background, a development in the economic cooperation system was necessary.
Hereupon, the Hainan International Arbitration Court (HIAC), Thailand Arbitration Center (THAC) and Thai-Chinese Law Alliance Association (TCLAA) established the Thai-Chinese International Arbitration Centre (TCIAC). to become the landmark for Thailand-China business-related disputes and now there are 42 prominent professionals in alternative dispute resolution. Aiming to enlarge its list of neutrals, the TCIAC decided to organize a training program to strengthen the knowledge of arbitration proceedings conducted under the TCIAC Arbitration Rules.
Duringthe seminar, TCIAC was honored by Mr. Wang Xuelin Chinese President of TCIACand Mr. Shi Datuo, Secretary General of TCIAC, for instructing about arbitration lawsand practices in Thailand.
Simultaneously, THAC also was honored by Ms. Noppramart Thammateeradaycho arbitrator at THAC presenting about code of Ethnic for Arbitrators and Remuneration of arbitrators. Moreover, Ms. Dutsadee Dutsadeepanich arbitrator at THAC also came as a special guest to discuss about Requirements for foreign arbitrators to conduct arbitration in Thailand (physically/virtually) according to the recently amended Arbitration Act (NO.2) B.E. 2562
