Thailand Arbitration center cooperates with the Office of SMEs Promotion (OSMEP) to create opportunities in dispute resolution for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

On 1^st October 2020, Thailand Arbitration Center (THAC), by Mr. Pasit Asawawattanaporn, Managing Director of THAC and Mr. Veerapong Marai, Director of OSMEP, have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote and support the usage of the Alternative Dispute Resolution by SMEs, including public relations of the Alternative Dispute Resolution in OSMEP’s channel. This MOU signing ceremony was taken place at Thailand Arbitration Center

Mr. Pasit Asawawattanaporn, Managing Director of THAC, said that currently, SMEs’ growth had increased continuously while disputes with respect to SMEs are also growing. Many entrepreneurs remain using traditional resolution or through a court that will take a long time, causing business damage in both time and expenses. This is a reason for the cooperation between THAC and OSMEP for promoting and encouraging the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution such as mediation and arbitration, especially in small claim disputes. It will help SMEs to have options to dispute resolution that is comfortable, quick, and economical and eventually drive the Thai economy to grow by leaps and bounds.

Mr. Veerapong Marai, Director of OSMEP said that the cooperation for Alternative Dispute Resolution between OSMEP and Thailand Arbitration Center is an effective option to resolve the SMEs dispute. OSMEP will support the publicize of advantages and process of dispute resolution by conducting seminars to educate, disseminating the articles, including forwarding the SMEs’ disputes to Thailand Arbitration Center (THAC), as a neutral third party who is also an expert, to find the resolution on SMEs dispute.

THAC support OSMEP member who has business disputes by giving voucher in the value of 3,000 Baht as a discount for an arbitration service from THAC. Any member of OSMEP who would like THAC to act as the neutral third party in resolving disputes, please contact SME One-stop Service Center in all provinces to forward the dispute case and receive a voucher as a discount from THAC.
