"Paving the Way for Effective Use of ADR in Commercial and Investment Disputes"
There are many developments and changes to current framework of ADR as we know, from the introduction of Singapore Mediation Convention in late 2019, various arbitral institutions are revising their rules across the world, the use of third-party funding and adoption of technology in ADR proceedings. There are also increasing effort for countries in establishing international commercial courts mainly thanks to The Hague Convention on Choice of Court Agreements. The ADR community around the globe is trying its best to keep up with the pace of today’s every-changing world. Whether the users or the ADR practitioners, we all agree that there are things to be fixed and should be fixed, all stakeholders of ADR are in fact constantly come up with various creative solutions to serve the needs of the community in order to pave the way for effective ADR proceedings. The ADR Week’s objective is to discuss the changes and developments that have taken place and to assess whether these changes are in fact paving way for effective use of ADR in commercial and investment disputes.
