Lancang-Mekong Region Cooperation International Arbitration High-End Forum
On 10 November 2018, the THAC shared its proposal on cooperation between arbitral institutions for international arbitration and mediation to support the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation. The Lancang-Mekong Cooperation is a sub-regional cooperation between six riparian States along the Lancang and Mekong River. The joint institutional support for consolidating cases, making available hearing facilities, collaborating on seminars and training programs, sharing of resource persons and recommendations of arbitrators and mediators were some of the proposals shared. There was an understanding reached between the arbitral institutions from the LMC to consider a joint Memorandum of Understanding in the near future.
