There was much criticism in the social world when the Facebook page published a clip of an elderly man who physically abused a grandmother of a similar age by beating. The clip posted with the caption that “Why did you do that to grandma? By injuring her, you will be punished with a criminal sentence.” With this clip being shared in many social worlds, many netizens have voiced their opinions and criticized the male actions.
When investigating the incident, we knew that the grandfather and grandmother in the clip both reside in Nakhon Ratchasima province. The team then went to the area to investigate and interview. The grandfather in the clip is Mr. Lon, and the grandmother, Mrs. Heng. From the conversation with them, they were both shocked at the fact that the clip was published, causing severe criticism, which then causes stress to both of them.
In this regard, the village headman said that he had been aware of the events shown in the clip and had resolved this problem. The released clip was taken at the end of January. When the incident happened, the village headman called grandpa Lon and grandma Heng’s relatives to compromise and talk until they were well understood. By this, grandpa promised that he would not cause this kind of incident again which he signed a memorandum as evidence.
Grandpa Lon explained the incident on that day “Grandma Heng is always forgetful. She walked to close the door because she thought it was nighttime, but actually, it was noon. I opened it, but she persistent in closing many times. This made me angry, and then I pushed her, as shown in the clip. After that, the headman called upon us to discuss, and there is no other physical abuse afterward. I guarantee that I have been taking good care of her.
